JIM STEWART

“Helping Executives Find Meaningful Roles in the Economy”

Jim Stewart is a serial networker and entrepreneur.  He speaks to a wider variety of groups and associations focused on effective networking and career management.  Jim has met with thousands of senior level, in-transition executives building effective networking “hubs” and understanding why executives lose their career direction.

A consistent message from in-transition executives is that the skills to find a job or different from the skills to perform a job.  The solution is knowable and within reach of every executive.  The answer resides in a well thought out written career plan and identifying their differentiation and positioning for the target audience.  Executives must have a personal peer-to-peer advisory board to help build effective networks and provide critical feedback on direction and plan execution.

Prior to founding Executive Compass (a firm that assists in-transition senior-level executives) and Executive Smarts (an interim executive and executive search firm) Jim served as CEO for durable goods manufacturing companies in the automotive, appliance, and building products industries.  He led multiple acquisition, integration and divestiture teams for private equity, holding companies and mezzanine investors.  He provided leadership in international business development, built and operated manufacturing plants, managed ventures and business relationships across wide geography with “Fortune 1000” companies.

More recently, Jim has focused on talent acquisition (both interim executives and executive search) for companies that needed help in restructuring, diversifying their operations or improving their competitiveness.  Jim founded Process Executives to provide Baldrige, Shingo and Six Sigma operating improvement consulting.

Jim is a graduate of Texas A&M University and the Stanford University Graduate School of Business Executive Management Program.

What makes Jim unique is his insatiable quest to make the work search process easier for people.

“Be prepared at any moment to sacrifice what you are for what you could become”.
